Welcome to the Bent Northrop Memorial Library Summer Reading Program!
Join us for this fun and free series of activities and events designed to prevent the "summer slide" and encourage kids and teens to read during the summer. The national theme this year is "All Together Now". In addition to our weekly events, we will have a huge sticker mosaic, guessing jars, weekly door prizes, a wildlife cam, and more!
Kids will get schedules and reading records sent home through the school in early June. You can sign up and get more at the Library as soon as school is out on June 16, or sign up online at https://forms.gle/WAtUKRr5G7JHzd858.
Preschool to grade 6: Set a goal for how many books you think you can read (or have read to you) during the program, and keep track with stickers on your reading log that you got at school or at the library. Show us you've met your goal (or gave it a good shot) to get a free book and other goodies plus three tickets for our raffle for great prize packages like Jay Peak Indoor Water Park passes, gift cards, and more! You can get more raffle tickets when you come to programs and borrow books too! Make sure to return your record before or at our Summer Reading Celebration on Friday, August 11th to be entered to win the grand prizes. The party is from 2:00-4:00 and we will draw the winners at 3:00. You do not have to be present to win and can still get your free book and goodies any time if you can't make it to the party.
Grades 7 and up can earn raffle tickets by completing a teen challenge sheet (available at the library and on our website) or by volunteering to help out with our summer events!
